Key Takeaways

When the first wave of NFL games kicked off on Sunday, the Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers game was the most heavily bet at PointsBet. The game was followed by the Baltimore Ravens at Philadelphia Eagles.

Ultimately, those games were surpassed by the Sunday night game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.

All three went into the victory column for PointsBet.

It was a great day for us, overall,” said Andrew Mannino, the senior sports content analyst at PointsBet, to Casino.org. “We had big results on the Bucs, big results on the 49ers in the late game, the Bears were another really good result, and the Eagles covering. It was a good day all around for the book.”

Week 6 of the NFL season concludes with a Monday doubleheader. The first is a showdown between two AFC heavyweights, the Kansas City Chiefs (4-1) at Buffalo Bills (4-1). The second pits the Arizona Cardinals (3-2) at Dallas Cowboys (2-3).

Bucs Blowout

, the Tom Brady-led Buccaneers pulverized Aaron Rodgers and the formerly undefeated Packers 38-10.

As a 2-point favorite, Green Bay had 85 percent of the spread tickets and 86 percent of the spread handle at PointsBet. It raced to a 10-0 lead before Rodgers threw two interceptions to turn the tide. The first throw was returned for a touchdown.

The Bucs led 38-10 through three quarters and neither team scored in the fourth, meaning the 54.5-point total went under. That was another win for PointsBet since 92 percent of the handle was placed on the over.

The Ravens were 10-point favorites and attracted 71 percent of the spread handle. Those bettors no doubt were feeling good about the Ravens leading 24-6 in the third quarter and 30-14 in the fourth. But the Eagles scored two touchdowns in the final 4 minutes, making the final score 30-28, Ravens on top.

In the night game, the 49ers, as 2.5-point underdogs, beat the Rams 24-16. Los Angeles drew about 80 percent of the spread money.

In another strong result, the previously winless Atlanta Falcons, coming in as 3.5-point underdogs, thumped the Minnesota Vikings, 40-23. Almost 80 percent of the spread handle was on Minnesota.

Monday Games

The Chiefs, the reigning Super Bowl champions , opened as 3.5-point favorites, but it was up to 5.5 points at midday Monday. According to Mannino, the Chiefs are getting 81 percent of the handle.

While the Chiefs’ favorite status has gained, the over/under has dipped from 57.5 to 55.5.

For the first time in a while, we’re seeing money coming in on the under tonight,” Mannino said. “Bettors have been loving the over all season with all the scoring going on all the time. This is the first game we’re actually seeing an under attracting most of the money.”

In the finale of the week, the Cowboys are 1-point favorites after opening the week as 2.5-point underdogs. and has been replaced by veteran Andy Dalton. The Cardinals have received two-thirds of the bet count, but 52 percent of the handle. Bettors have gone heavy on the over of the 55-point total.

“He’s such a dynamic player and he’s so important for the team, but they’re not in a bad way,” Mannino said of Dallas’ quarterback situation. “Dalton can move the ball. He’s not going to give the ball away. As far as losing your starting quarterback, Dallas is not in a terrible spot.”
